In June 2011, the vacuum specialist J.Schmalz was awarded for its "Pick-by-Shutter" assembly workstation. This workstation is used to assemble ejectors from individual components. This particularly innovative solution leads to sustainable improvements in efficiency and working conditions.

To start off the year, Schmalz held its World Market Meeting at its headquarters in Glatten. The company used this opportunity to greet the managing directors of its 16 international subsidiaries. As in years past, the subsidiary that showed the strongest growth was acknowledged.

As part of this year’s company anniversary, on September 21, 2010, Schmalz invited 15 of its most important suppliers to visit them in Glatten.

Students from Wisconsin, USA visited the Vacuum-Technology specialist Schmalz. The company introduced its wide concept of sustainability on the company-owned Ecological Guided Tour.

Last year, Schmalz christened its largest construction project to date. With this EUR 16 million investment, the company declared its commitment to its location and the surrounding region.
