Handling large glass sheets outdoors

The vacuum lifting device VacuMaster Glass is ideal for a safe and ergonomic handling of glass workpieces outdoors. VacuMaster Glass is attached to the site crane and effortlessly lifts loads up to 600 kg. The workpieces are held by up to eight suction plates. Only vacuum is used to hold the workpiece in place.

Configuration

Using the VacuMaster Glass, workpieces can be swiveled manually by 90° and rotated by 360°. These movements can be locked in place in 18° increments for swiveling and in 45° increments for rotating. This means that the workpieces can be aligned perfectly and installed in the facade.

VacuMaster Glass can be operated without being attached to the electrical power supply. An LED indicator shows the charge status of the 12 V rechargeable battery, which can also be replaced.

The flexibility of the Schmalz lifting device allows the adaptation to workpieces of various sizes. The device’s extension arms can be removed easily, so the number of suction plates can be reduced down to four.

The two redundant vacuum circuits distribute the vacuum according to the number of suction plates, ensuring that the glass can be handled safely at all times.
