Kretzschmann Edelstahl is based in Birkenfeld, Germany and is a competent trade partner and distributor of stainless steel strips, wires, rods, cables, boards and profiles. All materials, and especially stainless steel strips, can be accurately cut to the desired dimensions and satisfy the highest requirements.

During production and shipping of precision strips, such as coils and split strip rings, the high quality goods must be horizontally picked up from the pallets and vertically placed on a decoiling system. Previously, this was accomplished using an industrial bungee cord attached to the crane. Kretzschmann was searching for a method that was not so difficult and time-consuming, but which, most importantly, also handled the materials gently. This was the only way to meet the high requirements in the long term.

The vacuum lifting device VacuMaster Coil is perfectly suited for the process of horizontally picking up coils from the pallets and vertically placing them on the decoiler mandrel as described above. The lifting device is suitable for thin and extremely thin metal sheets as well as metal foils, steel, tinplate and aluminum. The vacuum lifting device VacuMaster Coil allows damage-free gripping without using mechanical clamps. This makes it very gentle on the material and does not cause any damage. The heavy loads of the coils and slit strip rings, up to 500 kg, do not represent a particular challenge, as the device is designed for maximum loads up to 750 kg. Because it has circular chambers that can be switched on and off, coils and slit strip rings of various diameters can be lifted. An acrylic glass suction plate makes it much easier to center the unit on a coil. The load can be accurately and continuously swiveled by 90° and placed on a decoiling system. After processing, the decoiling mandrel is picked up and transported to the scales at Kretzschmann, also using the vacuum lifting device VacuMaster Coil, making the work easier throughout the entire process chain.
