The Weleda company is the worldwide leading manufacturer of holistic body care products and medicines for use in anthroposophical therapy. Based in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, Weleda's driving principle of sustainability has led them to conduct fundamental research in the field of medicinal plants, in addition to developing products.

Their production of natural cosmetics involves the storage of essential oils in barrels. These barrels are delivered on wooden pallets, but must be transferred to aluminum pallets due to high purity requirements. Since each barrel weighs approximately 200 kg, this process demanded an enormous amount of physical effort on the part of the employees.

The vacuum lifting device VacuMaster Basic can lift one barrel at a time with ease. Due to its electronic warning device, the employee is warned in time in the event of a power failure. When this happens, the vacuum reservoir lets the vacuum be decreased slowly, which keeps the workpiece from falling. Because the operator handle is easy to reach, the vacuum lifting device is especially ergonomic and provides the required degree of protection of the employee's health. Combining the vacuum lifting device with a wall-mounted monorail allows for optimum coverage of the working area.
