Fritz Tür + Tor is a company that has been geared towards skilled workmanship and tradition since 1910. Located in Augsburg, Germany, the company specializes in door and gate solutions made from corrosion-resistant or rust-proof stainless steel. Their production area is located in two plants, which are connected by a trolley conveyor.
Logistical processes are also becoming more and more important for the modern metal construction industry. Loading and unloading a CNC machine tool to bend metal sheets requires that hundreds of sheet metal plates are transported each day. Loading can be done horizontally, but unloading must be performed using a stationary storage cart. In order to make this work easier for the employees and give priority to their health, the company decided to purchase a vacuum lifting device from Schmalz.

The vacuum lifting device VacuMaster Comfort is ideally suited to handle this logistical process. Its high-end features make it convenient to use and allow for fast operation. The vacuum lifting device VacuMaster Comfort has a 700-mm-long operator handle with integrated push-button control, which allows ergonomic, single-person operation at a sufficiently safe distance from the metal sheets. Horizontal loading is not an especially difficult task for this lifting tool. By contrast, horizontally unloading the metal sheets and then placing them on a stationary storage cart does pose a challenge. For this purpose, the vacuum lifting device is equipped with additional integrated control elements on the operator handle, which make it possible to horizontally rotate the goods by 90 degrees. This application highlights how much easier this work can be done with the vacuum lifting device.
The system is combined with an aluminum crane system SRA, which measures 13,000 mm x 6,000 mm (length by width) and provides an extensive working area. Both the aluminum crane system and the vacuum lifting device VacuMaster Comfort are designed to rotate loads weighing up to 175 kg. This provides plenty of power to handle the metal sheets, which have a maximum weight of 150 kg.
