1. Product information
- New suction pad for extremely hot workpieces
The new suction pad from Schmalz can do something which no other
suction pad has previously achieved: the new high-temperature
suction pad SPL-HT can be used to grip workpieces with
temperatures as high as 600 °C without problems. The suction pad
withstands these temperatures not only for short periods, it
remains undamaged even if they are gripped for a long time!

- Pressure switch whose switching points can be set at the touch
of a button
Two switching points can be set in a matter of seconds - with a
teach button. The advantage of this is that the switch can be set
quickly and precisely, even while the process is running. With a
weight of only 6 g and a width of 10 mm, the mini-pressure switch
is ideal for all electronic safety monitoring applications in
compressed-air systems.

- Suction plate SPK with optimised sealing edge
The robust and hard-wearing suction pad SPK has now been
improved even further. The new sealing edge, made of very
flexible foam rubber (MOS), is now made in one piece, without a
butt joint on its circumference. This reduces the risk of failure
and increases the operating lifetime of the suction pad.

- New holders and ejectors for tooling systems
The modular vacuum kit for tooling applications has now been
extended with two innovative components!
The new items are the flexible holder HTS for quick and reliable
mounting of gripping elements on tooling systems and the ejector
SEAC, with high suction and blow-off performance, which can be
mounted directly on the suction pad.

year's season. The international trade fair for plastics and
caoutchouc will be held on 24-31 October in Düsseldorf, and you

4. Schmalz news
- Schmalz relies on water power
It is the declared aim of J. Schmalz GmbH to become a positive-
energy company, since regenerative energy is the key for solving
many problems.
For this reason, the responsible persons at Schmalz have decided
to replace the old water turbine generator with a new and more
modern system. The ground-breaking ceremony for this was
recently held in Glatten.

- New trainees start their training with a project
On Monday, 3 September 2007, 18 new trainees and students began
their training at Schmalz.
In order to get to know each other and the company, the new
