Vacuum Gripping Systems

Schmalz's complex vacuum gripping systems let you implement decisive productivity increases during automated processes. The systems range from layer and large-area vacuum gripping systems to ready-to-install vacuum suction spiders for use in all areas of automation.

Large-Area Vacuum Gripping Systems FXC and FMC

The large-area vacuum gripping systems FXC and FMC guarantee maximum flexibility during automated handling processes. It makes automated palletizing, depalletizing, order picking and sorting of the most varied goods in varying dimensions with only one gripper possible. Workpieces made from the most varied materials, such as carton, wood, metal sheets (dry) and plastic, both with and without cut-outs, can be handled.

Large-Area Vacuum Gripping System SBX

Powerful handling with maximum flexibility is made possible by the large-area vacuum gripping system SBX. The SBX vacuum gripper can handle a wide range of products including: lumber, engineered wood, steel profiles, building lumber and pallets with a highly warped, rough surface. Because of its low weight and compact measurements, the system is also ideal for use with industrial robots.

Vacuum Layer Gripper SPZ

With the vacuum layer gripper SPZ, entire product layers can be palletized and depalletized. Loading and unloading of partially filled pallets is made possible by a combination of vacuum technology and mechanical gripper support. This universal gripper is best suited for handling crates, carton boxes, foil packages, intermediate layers, pallets, and much more.

Vacuum Suction Spider SSP

The typical applications for the vacuum suction spider SSP include metal profiles, circuit boards, stones, sheet products, car body parts, glass and ceramic parts, solar panels, non-rigid workpieces, and much more. The vacuum suction spiders are used in presses and bending centers, during automation of plastic, injection molding and swage machines, and in work centres in the wood/plastics sector. They are also used for water jet, laser and die cutting/nipple machines. Order picking in storage and distribution centres with robotic palletizers and industrial robots is made possible.

Vacuum End Effector VEE

Schmalz’s modular system for vacuum end effectors (VEE) enables grippers to be designed quickly and easily. Vacuum end effectors of type VEE are used on Delta and SCARA robots and minimise cycle times for packaging processes.

With the modular system, suitable end effectors can be designed for specific applications – whether for case packers, top-loaders, or cardboard box or tray erectors. The modular system includes a variety of flange modules, basic modules, connectors and suction pads.
